                                     Important facts of the brain
Facts about the brain:
·         In order to store or to recall any incidents or event, here memory plays an important role as a device or as an organism.
·         Memory is of two types’ short term and long term. Short term memory will helps in remembering the short term events and long term memory will helps in remembering events which has occurred before a long time.
·         Like computer has a hard drive, brain has a memory. There are some facts about the brain which is as follows:

v  Neural damage can occur due to insufficient and no continuous supply of oxygen. So continuous supply of oxygen is needed for proper functioning of brain.
v  Blood is important for brain; it helps in metabolic demand to neurons. Like glucose oxygen is also important to brain.
v  Pain will not be registered in brain because of no nerves.
v  Cerebellum is also known to be as little brain weighs for about 150 grams and it is present in lower at back side to human brain, cerebellum helps in posture maintenance, walking and for various other movements.
v  Weight of human brain is about 1.4 kg (Kilogram) or to be over three pounds.
v  Size of the elephant brain is six times larger than the human brain; its brain is the largest when compared to other animals. Averaging weight of elephant brain is about 2% of its body weight.
v  100 billions of neurons will be present in an average sized brain.
v  Blood vessels present in the brain are about 100,000 miles.
v  Amount of neocortical neurons lost in our brain is for about 85000.
v  Brain helps in memory functioning and also helps in producing new neurons throughout humans life which is sometimes referred to be brain or neuron plasticity.
